Eric MOE Obituary
"The true measure of a man is not how he behaves in moments of comfort and convenience but how he stands at times of controversy and challenges." -Martin Luther King Jr.-
In times of comfort and convenience, Eric was always a kind and generous man. His welcoming and effusive nature meant that no one ever felt left out. The love he felt was the love he shared and when those times of challenge arrived, his grit and fight were equally unwavering.
Cancer was no match for Eric's indomitable spirit. No matter how he was feeling, once you walked into the room, his smile would beam and he was sincerely overjoyed to see you. It was your comfort, not his, that he was concerned about.
Throughout this entire fight, his positive attitude never quelled. Cancer was merely an inconvenient bump in the road and he could not wait to get back to the people and things he loved the most.
Eric loved to spend his downtime skiing, boating, and golfing. He often referred to Wandermere Golf Course as his "babysitter" growing up, as he spent many a summer day there while his parents and grandparents played a round or two of golf. He loved to play golf with his family and friends.
Eric wore many hats in his lifetime. Stockbroker, investor, contractor, renovator, uncle, cousin, nephew, and brother, but the finest of hats that he wore were of son, husband, and father.
His wife, Annie; and his two children, Rachel and Ryan were whom he treasured the most. He would beam with pride when asked about them all. He'd flash that smile of his and say "I'm so proud. I'm the luckiest man in the world."
Eric is survived by the absolute love of his life, his wife, Annie; his daughter, Rachel; and son, Ryan; as well as his mother, Linda; father, Maynard; and brother, Troy (Alaina, Abby, and Jordan). Never to be forgotten are his nephew, Devon (Linda, Taegan, Parker, and Avery); niece, Ashley (Matt, Brendan, Emmy, Rowan, and Rose); cousins, Steph (Seth), Tony (Brandon and Kendra); and last, but certainly not least, his two beloved dogs, Bella and Boris, all of whom loved him like no other.
Cancer packed a big punch indeed, but it did not win this fight. While we will forever mourn our loss here on earth, heaven rejoices in Eric's triumphant return.
Eric's Celebration Of A Life Well Lived will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Sunday, August 25, 2024, at Hennessy Funeral Home & Crematory 2203 N. Division St., Spokane, WA 99207.
