Frances HOOER Obituary

Frances "Fran" Hooper, age 97, passed away peacefully June 8, 2021. She

was born in Chicago, Illinois to Frank and Marian. She was a graduate of

Morgan Park High in Chicago and attended Macalester College in St.

Paul, MN. She married her high school sweetheart, Blake Howard

Hooper, who preceded her in death in 2000.

Fran had a welcoming and kind manner which always put everyone she

met at ease. She was easygoing yet purposeful, and she knew how to be a

leader in her social circle. She hosted social dinner parties and business

guests of Blake's with ease and skill and was always the "belle of the ball". Fran was an amazing

mother. She treasured her two children and skillfully raised them to be responsible, independent

and caring adults. Fran loved to sew and knit; she made beautiful clothing for the whole family.

Fran's hobbies included golf and playing cards with friends and family.

After she was widowed, Fran moved to La Posada, a retirement community in Palm Beach

Gardens, Florida, where she easily gained a host of good friends. Years later, concerned about

her long-term health, she relocated to The Rockwood Retirement Community in Spokane,

Washington, where her daughter lives.

Fran is survived by her daughter, Kathy Piper, her son, Dave Hooper, and grandchildren, Karen

Kardatzke and Sharon Lennstrom, plus four great grandchildren: Cole, Ella, Emma and Allie.

In addition to her husband, Fran is preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Janice

Davison.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Fran's memory to the Rockwood Residents'

Foundation 2903 E. 25th Avenue, Spokane, Washington, 99223.
