Frances Zimmerman Obituary

ZIMMERMAN, Frances E. (Chase) (Age 85) Passed away December 11, 2009 at her home in Oakesdale, WA. Frances E. Chase Zimmerman was born on July 13, 1924 to Charley and Laurel (Gaines) Chase at the Lone Pine family farm near Tekoa. She attended grade school at the Lone Pine Country School and graduated from Tekoa High School in 1942. On November 6, 1942, she married Fred B. Zimmerman of Belmont at her family's home near Tekoa. The couple made their home at Belmont and they farmed near Belmont, Oakesdale, and Tekoa until May of 1983. In 1983, the couple moved from the family farm into Oakesdale where she has made her home since. Her husband of 52 years Fred died in 1994. She was a member of the Oakesdale Community Presbyterian Church and the Church Ladies Aid, the Oakesdale Grange, the Rebecca Lodge, the Belmont Bible Study, the Pine Creek Club, the Wednesday & Thursday Bridge Clubs, the Kendrick Kampers, and the Idaho Road Runners. Frances loved family get togethers, camping, gardening, crocheting, playing bridge with her friends, and attending her church. Frances was blessed with a loving family, a daughter Barbara and husband Keith Berntgen of Oakesdale, a son Richard and his wife Julie Zimmerman of Oakesdale; three granddaughters, Sherri (Mrs. Don) Larsen, Heidi (Mrs. J.R.) Doneen, both of Oakesdale, and Jeneille Zimmerman of Spokane, two grandsons, Darin his wife Kellie Berntgen of Oakesdale, and Ryan Zimmerman of Renton, WA; great-grandchildren Cory, Dylan, and Nicholas Doneen, Brian, Haylee, and Jarred Berntgen; Brianna and Danielle Larsen, all of Oakesdale; a brother Byron Chase of Clarkston, WA, sister Marjorie (Mrs. Elmo) Eldridge of Lewiston, brother-in-law Don Munstedt and sister-in-law Florence Chase. She was preceded in death by her husband Fred, brother Ralph Chase, and sisters Eunice Munstedt and Ellen Quinlivan. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 19, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at the Community Presbyterian Church in Oakesdale. Pastor Erik Buhl will officiate at the service and burial will follow at Goldenrod Cemetery in Tekoa. Viewing will be Friday, December 18, 2009 from 2 pm until 8 pm at Kramer Funeral Home in Tekoa. Memorial gifts may be given to the Oakesdale Community Presbyterian Church at Oakesdale. KRAMER FUNERAL HOME OF TEKOA, WA is handling the arrangements.
