George CARTY Obituary

George P. Carty went to be with his Lord Jesus Christ on December 15, 2022, at Sacred Heart Hospital after a sudden short illness. George was born March 24, 1937, in Spokane, WA, to parents Florence and William Carty. A member of the Teamsters union since 1959, he drove for many of the local freight companies like United Buckingham, Bestway, and Silver Eagle. George was an all-city high school football and baseball star at Gonzaga Prep, even playing briefly for the Spokane Indians. Later in life George became a lover of golf and excelled at the game. George had five children with his first wife, and two with his second wife.

In 1983, George met his current wife Edith and they have been happy together for almost 40 years. George and Edith spent their early retirement years traveling around in their camper and ultimately becoming snowbirds in Yuma AZ. George was a devoted lifetime member of the Catholic Church.

George is survived by wife Edith Carty, children Dave, Sherry (deceased), Cindy, Robert, Kevin, Sarah and Molly. A memorial service will be held at Lady of Fatima church on December 22, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider donation to Lady of Fatima Catholic Church.
