Greg ARONSON Obituary

Our beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend Gregory (Greg) Aronson was called home on June 18, 2024, after fighting a long battle with Alzheimer's. Greg was born in Spokane on February 27, 1948, to Millie and Walt Aronson. He attended school in Spokane where he met his high school sweetheart, Sharleen Mills, whom he later married. They settled on the South Hills of Spokane and had two boys. Greg graduated from baking school and worked in the bakery at Safeway for over 35 years before retiring. After losing Shar to cancer, Greg was blessed to find and marry his second love, Sandy.

Greg was preceded in death by his first wife of 35 years, Shar Aronson, and his parents. He is survived by his second wife, Sandy Aronson (Upchurch); his two sons, Mike (Lori) Aronson and Tracy (Jeanette) Aronson; his brother, Jeff; his five grandsons, Patrick, Brendan, Cain, Daniel and Robert; and his great-grandson, Jude. Greg is also survived by many other family members and friends.

He enjoyed spending time at his house on Deer Lake where he spent many happy hours fishing and taking friends and family on boat rides. He also loved to sit on the front porch enjoying the deer, birds, squirrels, and turtles that would pass through his property. When he wasn't at the lake, you could find him in front of his many computers sorting and sending photos to all of his loved ones. He and Sandy loved to travel on "photo safaris," which often provided inspiration for Sandy to use in her artwork. His love of electronics and "Big" T.V. made his home a popular hot spot for the Gonzaga Basketball games and Seahawks football!

Greg's family members are grateful to the many caregivers at Cherry Creek Adult home who cared for him like family. The level of care and love provided to him and his family by the staff will never be forgotten. We would like to thank them for the thoughtful surprises of chocolate milkshakes, French fries, and their playing/ singing along to his favorite Beatles songs.

We'd also like to thank the Hively's and the Gordon's for all their assistance, kindness and lifelong friendship.

A memorial service will be held at Hennessey Funeral Home on Division Street, on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., with a reception to follow.

I saw a friend today and she told me of Greg's passing. When growing up we were family friends. My mom and Millie Greg's mom were friends. Sorry for your loss. Prayers for you Sandy , Jeff, and the complete family.

Jerry and I were lucky enough to have known Greg. Jerry worked with Greg for many years at both Safeway and Franz. Greg was such a good and kind man. Our hearts break for his loved ones, both family and friends, who are now mourning his passing. Greg was loved by us and many others. We miss him. We were blessed to have known him. We will never forget him.
Rest in peace Greg.
