Howard WALKER Obituary
Howard Osman Walker, age 83, passed peacefully with his wife of 61 years at his side on Thursday, October 31, 2024, in Spokane, WA. He was born July 5, 1941, the son of Howard and Jane (Prudente) in Spokane. Howard was a 1959 graduate of North Central High School and on May 19, 1962, married Joan Lunberg in Spokane. He worked for WWP/Avista 30 years as a Gas Department Service Man and this would lead him to touch so many lives with his always caring demeanor. Howard began his interest in running in the late 1980s which eventually gained him a position on the Lilac Bloomsday Association Board Member from 1991 to 1999. In 1999 Howard and Joann built their dream home at Lake Roosevelt where again he was embraced by the local community. Don Staley was one of them that Howard enjoyed a relationship that tagged Don as an adopted son. He is survived by his wife, Joann; brother, Harold Walker, two sons, Jeffery (Lori) Walker and Kevin (Beth) Walker of Spokane; four grandchildren, Nicole (Donnie) Flanigan, Ryanne (Michael) Truex, Allie (Brian) Aguilera, Samatha Walker; and five great-grandchildren, Evynn and Lincoln Truex, Jonathan, Callahan, and Aiden Aguilera.
The family would like to thank everyone at Regency Care Center for the wonderful caring way they took care of Howard. He will be missed by his family and friend's all too much for those who knew him. A Celebration of Life will be held on April 26, 2025, at Kalispel Golf and Country Club from 1 to 6 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to SCRAPS in memory of Howard's love of pets.

We met Howard and Joan thru the BRRC and enjoyed a friendship for several years. Howard and I shared the same pace so enjoyed talking our way thru a few runs over the years. Howard was a caring person and a pleasure to know. My love and prayers to Joan and the family he loved..Rest well my friend.

Howard was kind and a loving person. I never meant anyone who knew Howard, that didn't love him.
Don and I will miss seeing your smiling face. Especially sharing ice cream bars together . We won't say good bye

Howard was such a loving and kind man. He knew so much about how to do things and was always ready to help whenever needed. If you were short a screw for your project or needed a tool, just go over to "Howard´s Hardware", he always had it. He was a great man but partly do to his wife Joan who was always by his side. Their two personalities made them a great pair, Howard who was calm and quiet and Joan added just enough spice to make them the perfect couple. She was the love of his life as well as his Son´s and Grandchildren. His eyes would light up when he talked about them. Howard will be greatly missed but never forgotten because his memory will always be carried on through his Wife, Children and Grandchildren.
