Jacquelyn BENDER Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our loving mother, beloved sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Jackie was born October 21, 1941, in Morton, Minnesota. She was the second of seven children born to Lawrence and Delores Blume. When she was only a few years old the family moved to Yakima, WA. Soon thereafter, they relocated to Greenacres, WA where she grew up. She graduated from Central Valley High School in 1959.

Jackie was known for her warmth, kindness, and unwavering love for her family who will forever cherish the memories of her gentle soul. Our mother was an avid sports fan. She was our biggest supporter growing up and loved to watch the grandkids and great-grandkids play as well. Not to mention, a loyal men's Gonzaga basketball fan. Go Zags!

Jackie spent most of her career working as a pharmaceutical technician, where she met and maintained lifelong friendships. Mom was not only our mother, but our true friend. Whatever problems arose, she was always there to help and in our moments of glory she was there to celebrate with us. Mom was affectionately known as "WAWA" by her family and friends. She was our rock. She was a single mom, who raised two kids on her own. She was the strongest person that we know, not large in stature, but determined to overcome any adversity.

How lucky we are to have someone that makes saying "goodbye" -so hard. We were so blessed to have her as our mother.

Jackie was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Carol Ritcheson, Diane Voliva, and Patricia Blume; her brother, Roger Blume (Crys); and her son, Baby Boy Shein. She is survived by her sister, Judith Stewart; brother, Larry Blume (Carol); her children, Nick Shein (Linda) and Pamela Henderson (Paul); grandson, Cody Moore (Kala) and Trevor Moore (Taylor); and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your charity of choice or Hospice of Spokane. We would like to thank Ashley, Melissa and Diana for their kind support during our time of need.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at 1:00pm at Hennessey Valley Funeral Home, 1315 N. Pines Rd., followed by a Celebration of Life at Darcy's Restaurant, 10512 E.
