James LITTLETON Obituary

James "Jim" Littleton of Spokane, WA, passed away peacefully September 21st, at the age of 84. Jim was born on November 3rd, 1940, to Sam and Beaulah Littleton (Hall) in Oakesdale, WA.

He grew up farming on their family farm and went on to serve in the Air National Guard.

He later became a professional musician, playing bass guitar and keyboards, and was awarded bass player of the year by the Spokane Musicians Union in 1974 and 1975. In addition to his musical career, he also co-owned the Happy Hour Pizza/Tavern and worked in real estate and sales of manufactured and motor homes.

Jim was funny and had a dry, witty sense of humor. He loved his family, friends, dogs, and many cats! He enjoyed vacations to national parks, music, classic cars and cheering on his grandsons in organized sports.

Jim was preceded in death by his sisters, Ruth Johann, Grace Rohrbach, and Nina Gregory.

He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Jeannie (Mesenbrink); son, Vince (Carol); daughter, Stacey Rice; grandsons, Tyler (Sarah) and Jacob (Kathya); and a great-grandson, Daniel. He was eagerly awaiting the arrival of his twin great-grandchildren, a boy and a girl, who will grow up hearing stories of their Great Grandpa Jim.

Jim is also survived by his sisters, Sammie Day and Elnora Carr; and his brother, Ed (Eunice); along with many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Stacey, for her dedicated care and to Fresenius Kidney Care of Spokane.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to your local kidney foundation.

There will be a celebration of life for friends and family in Spring 2026.
