Jerry CLARK Obituary

CLARK,
Jerry Lee

January 1, 1951 -
January 25, 2017

We are all heartbroken as our dear, sweet Jerry Clark has passed away. We will miss his beautiful smile, his gentle laughter, his fun conversation, and his undying loyalty and friendship. Jerry's passing is a tremendous loss to his adoring family and many friends. He was an amazing husband, devoted dad, extremely proud grandpa/papa, loving brother, and a very gentle but strong man.
Jerry was born in Spokane and never lived anywhere else. His parents were Donald Edward and Bertha Josephine (Duree) Clark. He was a 1969 graduate of Mead High School. Jerry served in the US Air Force and Washington Air National Guard from September 1969 to October 1977. A graduate of the Spokane Community College Industrial Electrical program, Jerry worked as a WA State electrical inspector for over 28 years, retiring in April 2013. He also taught electrical training classes at the local IBEW training center from the early 1980s until shortly before his death. He was licensed as both a journeyman and a master electrician.
Jerry was preceded in death by both his parents and his older brother, Vern Clark. He is survived by his wife Julie (Palmer) Clark; daughter Lisa (Mike) Carr of Nine Mile Falls; son Gavin (Jennifer) Clark of Moses Lake; stepsons Cory Lake of Portland, OR, Jayson (Courtney) Lake of Dunedin, FL, and Jimmy (Michel) Lake of Bellevue; eight grandchildren: Acecia and Ethan Carr of Nine Mile Falls, Jimmy Jr., Faith and Bronson Lake of Bellevue, and Mia, Ari, and Jayson James "J.J." Lake of Dunedin, FL; sister Gloria (David) Williams of Olympia, WA; and brother Kenneth Clark of Spokane Valley. He is also survived by many loving and supportive extended family members and friends.
Jerry was regarded by those who knew him as the sweetest man in the world. He lived a full and happy life and was adored by his close knit family and many friends. After retirement, he and wife Julie frequently traveled all over the country as well as Mexico and Canada, plus they took several ocean cruises, stopping in various countries in Central and South America. Over the years, Jerry's hobbies included rehabbing houses, scuba diving, bicycling, hiking, kayaking, and ballroom dancing. He was a long-time, active member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Spokane Aerie #2, Greater Spokane Elks Lodge #228, International Association of Electrical Inspectors (IAEI), and IBEW Locals 73 (Spokane) and 76 (Tacoma).
The family wishes to extend their grateful and appreciative thanks to the incredible staff of Sacred Heart Medical Center's 2-South critical care ICU. Their highly professional but compassionate and loving care made a very stressful situation much more manageable. We will never forget any one of you. The family is extremely grateful we were allowed to be with Jerry until he took his last breath, assuring him we would all be OK.
Rest in peace, Jerry. We will love you forever
and you will always live on in our hearts.
Service, followed by a reception is scheduled for Thursday, February 2, 2017 at 11:00 am - Hazen & Jaeger Funeral Home, located at 1306 North Monroe Street in Spokane.

So very sorry to hear this. I remember growing up with the family as my parents were friends with the Clark parents & of course we all attended the same school (12 yrs together). I was the same as his brother LaVern, but I remember what a sweet & happy little boy Jerry was. My condolences to all of you and sorry for your loss.
