John McRAE Obituary

November 17, 1943 - April 27, 2025

Sequim - John F McRae died April 27, 2025, at Dungeness Courte Memory Care in Sequim, WA, following a 12-year battle with Primary Progressive Aphasia and dementia. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Deanna; his daughter, Vanessa Rice; his son, Jason McRae; and three grandchildren, Maddy, Sophia and Nicola. He was preceded in death by son, Christopher; father, John; mother, Audrey; sister, Julie; and brother, Paul.

Born in Spokane, WA, he attended grade school, Gonzaga Prep, and Gonzaga University. After serving the United States Navy, he obtained a doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Utah. John worked for years with the Spokane Community Mental Health Center and a private practice.

He will be remembered for his kind spirit, humor, willingness to help others, and his passion for golf, particularly his time on Downriver Golf Course. John will be forever in the hearts of his family. A private memorial and burial be held later at Fairmount Cemetery, Spokane, Washington.
