Kathy Altieri Obituary

ALTIERI, Kathy

The angel that walked amongst us. Kathy entered into the loving arms of her Mother and The Almighty Father on December 7, 2010, after a valiant fight with cancer. Kathy was born in Coeur D'Alene Idaho on September 25, 1950 to Al and Eleanor Kluber. Kathy grew up in Spokane graduating from Lewis and Clark High School. Kathy met her husband and partner Greg Altieri in 1985. Kathy enjoyed the post retirement years of her life after a long and rewarding career with Bank of America. Her shared passion for the game of golf with her husband Greg provided opportunities for them to travel and play many top rated Golf Courses in the U.S. In addition to her passion for golf, Kathy could be found supporting her Spokane Indians as well as traveling to major league ball parks throughout the U.S. Kathy enjoyed spending quality time with her dear friends in the Women's league at Sun Dance golf course. Kathy was preceded in death by her Father in 1963 and her Mother in 2009. Kathy is survived by her husband Greg Altieri and three daughters and their spouses; Kristi Daniels (Aberdeen), Alyssa Johnson (Jason) Spokane, Andrea Clay (Koyi) Spanaway, her two brothers Rick Kluber of San Diego, CA, David "Randy" Kluber of Highlands Ranch, CO, and her sister Jackie Nelson of Spokane. Kathy was also quite proud of her grandchildren; Devin, Makenna, Reilley and Zoie. Kathy touched the lives of everyone she met with a vigor and passion for life. The family would like to extend a "Thank You" to her dear friends and care givers that were there for her in her final days. She loved you all so much and the family is so appreciative of all your kind words and support. A special thanks to her Oncologist Dr. Wittenkeller and the nursing staff at Deaconess Hospital that attended to her needs with loving care.
A memorial service for Kathy will be held on December 18, 2010 at 10am at Life Center North Church 202 East Lyons Avenue. The Neptune Society of Spokane, providing cremation services. In lieu of flowers, please ask any family member regarding any donations you would like to make for a fitting memorial to be placed on the 15th hole at the Sun Dance Golf Course.

If not for you Kathy Kluber I never would have met my husband, Terry Mullen.

During 1967 when you and I were good friends your boyfriend (at the time) just happened to be Terry's best friend. You introduced Terry and I during a quick lunch hour visit to L.C. while the guys were attending S.C.C. I'll never forget the exact moment you and I were coming down the stairs from the second floor to the first floor--across from the school office when we ran into them. It was a magic moment. Terry and I have a wonderful life in Phoenix. He will be shocked and very sad to hear of your passing, I know I am.

We will never forget you Kathy. God Bless you and your family.

Kathy, I didn't know you for very long, but in that time I was able to see how special you were. A kind soul, I hope you are in peace.

Dear old neighbor Kathy (and Greg) were the best neighbors on Rich, always remembering our kids on Halloween and Christmas with gifts, keeping on eye on our house, letting our kids love their dogs (Ozzie and Harriett) and keeping up the yard. Plus Kathy rolling her eyes when Greg turned on the Peace Sign! We have loved the Christmas cards every year, and we will miss knowing Kathy was still in the world doing kind things for others even when she didn't live across the street. What a gift she has been to all who knew and loved her. Our hearts on Rich Street will forever be touched by her kindness. Peace, dear friend, Peace.

I met Kathy at Sundance Golf Course- she was so much fun to golf with. I would get a phone call - what you doing - want to play a round? So I would do what any good friend would do - stop my housework and go play golf. I miss her smile and funny prank stories. She had a great zeal for life.

I played golf with Kathy at Sundance. We used to see each other at the Spokane Indians games. We talked about her Mom before and after her Mom passed but Kathy never told me that she was sick herself. I am so sorry. I was shocked when I saw her name in the paper. She had the most beautiful personality and bright spirit. She was always so positive. And how she loved the game of golf!! My sympathy to Greg, their children and grandchildren. Kathleen McGaugh

I worked with Kathy at Bank of America she was the most thoughtful and classy lady I have ever had the pleasure of working with. She always would send a card or note of appreciation.
My heart goes out to you during this tough time. Please treat yourselves with love and kindness.
