Kelly HEFFERNAN Obituary

Heffernan, Kelly James was born August 30th, 1969, in Spokane, WA, the second of five children, to John and Kathy Heffernan. Kelly began his education at St. Charles Catholic School continuing to Gonzaga Prep High School and graduating from Gonzaga University in 1991, with a degree in business. After graduating he got a job working for US Bank before spending the next 17 plus years working at the Guardian as an insurance claims adjuster. "Uncle Kelly", as he is known to his many nieces and nephews, can also be defined by his love of music, traveling, gardening and all animals. He is survived by his mother, Kathy; along with his siblings and their spouses, Shawn (Sandi), Michele (Jay), Tim (Leslie) and Jason (Devin). A funeral mass will be held at St. Charles Catholic Church on July 15th, at 11:00 AM followed by a reception. Donations can be made in his name to the Spokane Humane Society.

I worked with Kelly at Guardian and had several conversations with him about traveling and pets. When I told him I was going to Europe with a friend, he offered to lend me his backpack. `Don´t buy one- save your money for your trip´. He also shared a number of travel tips. Although he left Guardian before I did, I knew that if I saw him again, I was guaranteed good travel stories. I´m sorry that didn´t happen.
My condolences to the Heffernan family.

I worked with Kelly at Guardian in the late 90´s. He was always so kind. My cubicle wasn´t far from his and I remember hearing him playing ac/dc so loud in his headphones I could make out the song from where I was. Nice guy. My condolences to his loved ones.
