I haven't spoken to Kevin since he moved to Leavenworth. I saw someone that reminded me of him while I was at the store and decided to look him up. I just found out of his passing and it hit hard. I wish I had the chance to say goodbye. He was truly a character. No matter the circumstances he always focused on the positive and saw a silver lining when no one else could. I enjoyed our conversations which always left me seeing things from a whole new perspective. The world was a bit brighter after a visit with Kevin. It hurts knowing we lost touch with one another before his passing. I'm sure you would be happy knowing I am still taking care of your dog. He is still the big slow dog he's always been. You will be missed...

When my daughter passed on I was totally heartbroken. Kevin was the only one who took the time to listen to me and to express my loss and grief. He didn´t say much but just listened to my sorrow. I will never forget his true kindness to a father who was suffering so much anguish from the loss of his child. He was a gentle kind spirit may this wonderful man be enjoying the fruits of his Christian faith in the presence of his lord Jesus.

He was resting on his bed in his bedroom at Carol Schmidt's house on Sinto in Spokane in August of 1984. I rented the room at the end of the hall the first year of law school.

Kevin and I met at Gonzaga Law in 1984 as we both rented rooms in the home of Carol Schmidt. Kevin and I were roommates in several different places in Spokane as well as Seattle, and a highlight was when we traveled Europe together in 2004 . Kevin was loved by everyone who met him, and through him I met some of my best friends. So many amazing memories almost universally bring a smile to my face. I departed Phoenix this morning but ran into a big wall of icy clouds in eastern Oregon and had to stop short in Ontario, Oregon. I probably won't make the memorial now, unfortunately. Kevin and I flew in a Cessna from Seattle to Montana to go skiing one winter and it was so scary. I swore to him and myself I would never do that again, so I am not.

Jane and I met Kevin shortly after we retired in Wenatchee in 2013. He was active in the AA fellowship and became a regular and welcome visitor to our home. We were drawn to his generosity of spirit, abundantly warm and friendly manner, keen attention to the life unfolding around him -- and he shared love with our dogs and bird, almost as much, as shared it with us. They responded as we did.

Kevin always had a smile on his face and lit up the room. He will be missed but never forgotten. Blessings of peace and comfort to his family.

I worked with Kevin at ACA about 25 years ago. His takes on life, law and public defense were unique. He often made us laugh out loud. In a strong field Kevin stood out as an unforgetable character and a delightful person to work with. Very sorry to hear he has passed.

I am sad to learn of Kevin´s passing. It is wonderful to read the reference to Kevin´s recovery and his commitment to AA. His AA community was the core of his joy of his life. He loved his siblings very much and talked about them with great pride. He loved being a lawyer and was very compassionate with his clients especially those that suffered from substance abuse.
