Larry HUTSELL Obituary

HUTSELL, Larry

Larry was born on November 16, 1947 in Spokane, WA and passed away on February 28, 2018, surrounded by family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 27 years Marie; his two brothers William Hutsell Jr. and Jack Hutsell (wife Janet); four daughters Carrie (Adam), Avril (Jon), Christy, Lauri (Chris), and son Tyron (Carmen); and nine grandchildren: Madison, Zachary, Jonathan, Kaitlyn, Brianna, Ella, Liam, Elijah, and Alyssa. He was preceded in death by his father William Sr. and mother Eileen. Larry graduated from Wallace High School in 1966 and attended college at SCC and EWU. He then joined the Army and served in Vietnam. After returning home he took a job at Wonder Bread/Hostess Cake where he would work and retired after 38 years. Larry was well respected in the trade and made countless friends throughout the Northwest. His marriage to Marie included blending two families together, three children from his prior marriage and two children from Marie's. While this would be a huge task for some he always loved and treated all five kids the same. After his retirement he found his true calling in life as a grandfather. This became his new job and from there on out he was an on call babysitter, chauffeur and would attend every game, dance recital and/or school function as their #1 fan. He always had a love for sports, from playing them in high school, attending a college or professional game or watching his kids and grand kids play. In his spare time he could be found on the golf course or at the lake place with his family and friends. A memorial service will be held on April 14th at South Hill Bible Church, 958 E. 29th Ave, Spokane, WA 99203 at 3pm with reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, please donate to The Spokane Guild School.

Sorry to hear this. Larry was a classmate and rode the same bus back and forth to school. He was a good person with a big smile. He will be missed.

I also grew up with the Hutsell boys in Silverton. Even though Larry was older I got to know him through Jack his younger brother and because Jack and I were friends, Larry also befriended me. So sorry to hear of his passing.

Larry, I first met in 1972. He is my cousin. While I was much younger, he was good to me. I always thought of him a kind of a Big Brother even though I never told him. Good Man, Great Family. Great People, Larry as with your Mom & Dad, you will be sorely missed. My heart goes out to his brothers and his children.
