Loreen MARTIN Obituary

MARTIN, Loreen Loreen Martin cartwheeled into heaven and landed on her feet in the presence of her Lord on May 31, 2015. She was born on April 8, 1928 to Harry and Gladys Lawrence in St. Louis, Missouri. Loreen was raised in Chicago, IL where she met her husband, Bruce Martin. It was love at first sight and they were married February 7, 1948. They began their family quickly, having three girls in three years. Later they moved to the San Fernando Valley, California where they were to have three more children, two boys and another girl. They settled in and raised there family until moving to Orange County after her husband's company transferred there. Eventually Bruce retired and with Loreen moved to Deer Park, but only lived there a short time returning to Orange County where Bruce passed away. Because she loved the Pacific Northwest, she returned to Deer Park after his death in January of 1989. Mom loved to cook and could have written the book for 1001 ways of cooking hamburger. Mom loved to camping, knitting, crocheting, and assorted crafts. But her most favorite pastime was reading her Bible and sharing the Lord with everyone. Mom taught Sunday School, served on the mission board at Grace Church in Deer Park. She also volunteered at Kid's Club. She founded a Bible study group at Crossings Senior Apartments in Deer Park, and financially supported different ministries. Her love for her Lord and other people was evident in her actions. Loreen was preceded in death by both her parents, two brothers, and her husband Bruce Martin. She is survived by her six children; Laurie (Steve) Stone of Cape Cod, MA, Lynn Perea of Garden Grove, CA, Leslie (Mark) Kemper of Deer Park, WA, Kevin (Pam) Martin of Orange County, CA, Maureen Wilson of Garden Grove, CA, and Bruce (Joann) Martin of Spokane. Thirteen grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. A Memorial Service will be held at Clayton Community Church at 4494 Carlton Ave., Clayton, WA, June 8th at 1:00pm.
