Margie Stanton's life was a long and full one. She will always be remembered for her beautiful smile and sparkly eyes, her unassuming warmth, and her ability to put people at ease. Margie was a classy lady, perfectly poised with impeccable manners, but she knew how to have a good time. She loved the cocktail hour, especially a good scotch, she hated to cook but made sure her daughters knew how to set a beautiful table.
Margie grew up in Seattle and attended St. Nicholas School. After graduation, she attended the University of Washington where she met many of her lifelong friends in the Kappa Kappa Gamma House
In 1953 she married Paul Francis Voinot and spent twelve happy years with him until he passed away in 1965. They have three daughters, Margretta Voinot-Baron of Sammamish, Washington, Andrea Voinot of Berkeley, California, and Alison Voinot of Seattle, Washington.
In 1969, Margie married Philip H. Stanton and moved to Spokane with her three daughters, two dogs, and a cat. Her family doubled in size with Phil's three children, Peter, Barbara, and Sally. Margie and Phil had many happy years together and especially loved cruising through the San Juan Islands, and spending winters in Rancho Mirage, California where they had a large circle of friends.
Margie's love of interiors led her to become involved with the Flowerfield Association at St. George's School, as well as a volunteer with the Campbell House, in Spokane.
After Phil Stanton died in 2010, Margie moved back to Seattle to be closer to her daughters. She is survived by, Margretta Voinot-Baron and husband Glen Baron, Andrea Voinot and partner Juan Rodriguez, Alison Voinot and husband Rick Rosenberry; stepchildren Peter Stanton and wife Denise, Barbara Stanton, Sally Poutiatine and husband Michael; grandchildren William Voinot-Baron, Maggie Voinot-Baron, Philip Stanton, Claire Stanton, Rob Miller, Hailey Poutiatine, Taylor Campbell, Garrett Campbell; as well as five great-grandchildren and four nieces and nephews.
