Matthew DISHMAN Obituary

Matthew Bruce Dishman "Matt" was born October 31st, 1990, to Brenda Dishman. His sister, Amanda, was thrilled to welcome a baby brother into the world to love and protect forever. As a child, Matt was full of spunk and humor. His sense of humor truly defined who Matt was as he grew into adulthood.

Matt went to school at Jenkins High School in Chewelah, WA, and finished in 2010. During his high school years, he worked at Safeway in Chewelah, where he made a lot of lifelong friendships. In 2010, he also had the pride of his life, Bentley. He was so proud to be a dad and loved his son more than anything.

He continued to work at Safeway for a couple of years after school while raising his son, and then he went on to explore a career in Caregiving. Once he determined this was not the career path he wanted, he enrolled into Northwest HVAC school in Spokane, WA, and moved his family there, where he began a successful career in HVAC, continuing to care for people while also building a professional career for himself.

After he graduated in 2019, he started working at Market Equipment. He was extremely loved by his HVAC community and his customers.

He and Bentley enjoyed camping, fishing, hiking, and playing games, and bike rides around town. Matt truly had a connection to the outdoors and nature and passed that on to Bentley by doing the things they loved. Matt also enjoyed wood working and building things for his loved ones.

Matt and his sister, Amanda, had also been very close, and he was so proud to be an uncle to Amanda's children, Sophie and Anthony. From cooking Matt's first Thanksgiving dinner together, to catching his sister so he could tattle tale immediately.

Matt has truly left a big hole in the hearts of his family and friends and his larger-than-life personality was truly one of a kind. His life will be remembered and celebrated with love, kindness, and humor, just as he would have wanted.

Matthew passed away on March 13th, 2025. This is the largest loss that this family has experienced to date. He is survived by his son, Bentley Dishman (14) of Spokane Valley, WA; his mother, Brenda Dishman (Eric Wardlaw) of North Pole, AK; his sister, Amanda Elliott (Levi Elliott) of Chewelah, WA; paternal grandparents of Gig Harbor, WA, and Spokane Valley, WA; and maternal grandparents of North Pole, AK; his aunt, Suzi Lucas (Jason Lucas) of Spokane Valley, WA; niece, Sophie Fierro of Chewelah, WA; nephew, Anthony Fierro of Chewelah, WA; along with numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.

Services will be held April 12th, at 1 PM, at Chewelah Park. The family will have food and gathering after the service.

Matt and I went to the same high school. We were not close but I never remember him ever being mean or unkind. He was always joking and smiling. I'll remember him that way. My prayers to his family.

I had the honor of knowing Matt thru his cousin Sean. He was a kind soul and was always there to help others when they needed it. He will be truly missed. My thoughts and prayers to the family.
