Michael HARRISON Obituary

Mike Harrison passed away peacefully, at home and surrounded by family on June 24, 2022, after a 5 ½ year long battle with cancer. He was born August 18, 1948, in Spokane, WA. to George and Lois Harrison.

Mike grew up and lived in Spokane his entire life before embarking on a 20yr adventure that included 10+yrs in Montana and 6yrs traveling in an RV to visit family and friends before permanently returning to Spokane in 2020. Mike worked for decades at both Sacred Heart and Deaconess Hospitals as a Perfusionist performing thousands of life-saving open-heart surgeries. Married in 1976 to Linda, the pair were inseparable on their many adventures and hobbies including traveling, camping, hiking, snowmobiling, golfing, and showing off his cherished 65' corvette. He attended his last car show, Lost in the 50's, and even performed on stage with his brother Jon just four weeks before his passing. Mike's passion for life and quick wit were infectious and he will be passionately remembered as a beloved husband, dad, grandpa, son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, and life-long friend to many.

Mike is survived by his wife, Linda Harrison; son Jason (Sumaya) Harrison of Seattle, WA.; daughter Ericka (Kevin) Jackson of San Diego, CA.; grandchildren Farah, Elias & Zavier Harrison, and Harper & Austin Jackson; brothers Jon (Marsha) Harrison of Spokane and Steve Harrison of Denver, CO. Mike was preceded in death by his parents and brother Rex Harrison.

A memorial Service will be held Saturday, September 17, 2022, at 12:30 pm. at Center Place 2425 N. Discovery Place, Spokane Valley, WA 99216, immediately followed by a celebration of life at Rock Town Grill & Pizza 12928 E. Mansfield Ave, Unit 1, Spokane Valley, WA 99216.

It was an honor and my privilege to know Mike. I worked in Surgery at Sacred Heart Medical Center. There were many, many times in very stressful situations that Mike could always ease the tension with laughter. Of course I envied him owning his '65. His eyes would sparkle when I begged him to let me drive it! I still tell people that story of how blessed he was to have found it. I prefer to remember Mike in the things he did that made me laugh. He was an ultra professional, always on top of things and was always calm in acute cases. Mike (and Linda) are part of the best memories of my days working in Surgery, very rare when you get to meet people like them. I am a blessed man because God let me cross paths with people like Mike. I will see him again, without a doubt, so be at peace Mike. May God comfort and keep Linda.
