RAFTIS,
Michael J.
(Age 56)
Of Cheney, Washington, left us on May 18, 2016, surrounded by friends and family after a hard-fought battle with pneumonia and cancer. He was born on March 3, 1960 to Jerry and Carolyn (Strawick) Raftis and attended Ferris High School, SCC, and was a member of the U.S. Army. He has worked for the Cheney School District since 2009. Mike is survived by his wife, Celena, mother, Carolyn, stepfather Andy Nicoll, siblings Julie, Trish (Greg), Megan (DJ) and Kyle (Rozy), children, Rochelle (John), Laura, and Corey, grandchildren Hayden, Bentley, Abel, Sierra, stepchildren Seth, Hannah, and Isaiah, and many nephews and nieces. Mike was a beloved grandparent, father, stepfather, husband, uncle, son, son-in-law, and friend, and loved the Seahawks, riding his motorcycle, photography and fishing. A graveside service will be held at 4:00 pm on May 25 at Spokane Memorial Gardens Cemetery. A celebration of life event will be held in the near future.
