Michael SWEETSER Obituary

(Age 68)

Born Michael Colin Holdford, to John Clifton Holdford and Eveltn Yona Bahary on February 16 1953, in Singapore, Malaysia. Both parents serving in the British forces.

Michael's parents soon divorced.

Michael and his mom then lived in Israel and England. While in England Mike's mom met an American G.I., fell in love and married Larry Douglas Sweetser. They brought Michael to live in America.

Michael was adopted and became a naturalized citizen April of 1963 with the name Michael Colin Sweetser.

Family was the stationed in Germany for a time.

Michael joined the Army in 1972. His first assignment was Vietnam. Discharged July 1972, and returned to the states. He then traveled to Alaska and worked on the pipeline and as a taxi driver, till the fall of 1975. He then traveled to Spokane, WA to visit with friends. This is where he met wife Cindy, and this is where they made their home together for 43 years. They had one child.

While in Spokane Mike worked for Monaco Enterprises for 24 years. He then moved on to over the road truckdriver with Watkins Shepard Trucking for 11 years until he had to retire.

Michael passed away peacefully in his sleep with Cindy and his dog Missy there.

He is survived by his wife and child; also his step-father Larry D. Sweetser; one sister Peggy Taylor; and two brothers David Sweetser and Larry D. Sweetser Jr. He is also survived by his other recently found Holdford family in England, three half-sisters Melaney Holdford, Lynda Holdford, Debbie Holdford; and two half-brothers Paul Holdford and Gary Holdford. Michael has many more cousins, aunts and uncles from the Bahary, Holdford, and Sweetser families.

Mike is preceded in death by his mother Evelyn and father John and many others I know he's visiting.

I would like to thank all of Michael's healthcare workers at Providence and Hospice of Spokane.
