Michael WILSON Obituary

September 17th, 1965- June 4th, 2023

Michael Joseph Wilson, 58, was born in Spokane, WA, the youngest of 7 children. Preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Norine Wilson, he is survived by his wife of 30 years Alex and his children Edward, Steven and Theodore. He leaves behind 6 elder siblings Ed Wilson (Patricia), Mary Brandt (Tom), Jim Wilson(Anita), Peter Wilson (Elaine), Tom Wilson (Kathleen), Norine Roberts and numerous nieces and nephews. He will be sorely missed by his beloved grandchildren Sylas, Lily, Liliana, Isabella, and Athena who loved him and filled his world with light.

Mike attended All Saints Elementary, Gonzaga Prep and SFCC where he met his future wife in the choir. His careers included food service, landscape care and roofing for Ark Roofing. He cherished family, loved big gatherings especially Easter, and followed his teams the Zags and WSU Cougars with passion. He had a life-long love of music, classic rock and golf, but Sunday morning breakfast and bowling with friends was his favorite time. Always seeking the elusive score of 300, he achieved it at least once in competition.

Mike was best known for his ability to make and keep friends. He inherited the gift of blarney from his mom and could talk to anyone. The golden rule was the foundation of his life. If you needed assistance, money or time, he'd find a way to help. If he was the recipient of a kind act, he found a way to pay it forward. When there were disagreements, he would reach out and deliver his most famous line, "Don't be a strangler!" Staying connected with family and friends was his goal.

May Paradise be his beloved Hawaii. He would want those he knew to raise a glass in his memory.

A Memorial will be held on Sunday, October 29th, 1pm at Valley Bowl, 8005 E. Sprague, Spokane.

So saddened when I heard of his passing. I had just talked to him 2 weeks earlier and had no idea this would happen. He was such a great person. Giving, loving and a spiritual blessing. Hold fast in the loving arms of your father, Dear Michael. We'll see you again someday.

My condolences I'm so sorry to find out smile passed.
I worked with Mike in the late 90' we always called him Mad Dog and I'm not sure why and Im pretty sure it was best I didn't ask lol. We didn't get off work till 9:00pm and a few nights a week we would go for a beer and play Golden Tee (video golf)it was always a good time. Like you mentioned In the obituary he was a easy guy to like. I'm glad I knew him.
Rest in Peace Mad Dog.

Mike was just the nicest man. I was blessed to know him through the bowling community. His absence is felt by us all. Condolences to his family.
