Milton MAAS Obituary

Milton Maas was born August 14th, 1945, and passed away December 1st, 2022, at Hospice of Spokane House. Sincerest thanks for Milt's wonderful care at Hospice.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Linda; daughters, Jennifer (Mike), Kristina (David), Elizabeth (Barty), Patricia (Luke), and Allison (Jon), his eleven grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Also survived by his sister Caryl, sister-in-law Patricia, as well as five nieces and nephews.

Milt joined the National Weather Service in 1971 and after moving to 4 states and some of them twice, he retired from NOAA in Spokane in 2008. He worked weather for 42 years including his time in the Airforce, stationed in England – once a Weatherman, always a Weatherman!!

He loved working for NOAA, spending his free time stamp collecting, working on his and his girls' cars in his younger years, and sitting with his favorite dog watching the Mariners. The weather channel was always on and he kept many records from the various weather instruments found inside and outside of his home. He loved attending his daughters' many activities and was so proud of each of them.

Please drop by the Moran Prairie Library – 6004 S. Regal Street, Spokane, on July 30th between 2 and 4:30 pm to share your memories in the Celebration of Milt's life.

Private interment at the Washington State Veterans' Cemetery will take place at a later date.

When me and my radio partner, Crash Carlon, were on Rock 106 back in the day, Milt was our go to weather guy, he was always such a good sport and a real treat to have on the air. Rest In Peace Milt.
