Neil ARVESCHOUG Obituary

April 16, 1934 - May 23, 2023

Neil G. Arveschoug, passed from this life into eternity to a place in heaven made especially for him by his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Our dad proudly served in the US Navy (Korean War Vet- USS Henley 762). He had a career in broadcasting, studied to become a pastor, graduated from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and was on the national board of the Southern Baptist Broadcasters Association. He served in the Wings for Christ Ministry as a private pilot and supply minister for rural communities. He loved to fish and tell fishing stories. He will be missed for his wit, caring heart, and his gift of conversation. Neil was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years (Vera Mae Arveschoug) and his daughter Mary Elizabeth. Neil leaves behind his son Steve (Chris) Arveschoug, grandchildren Anthony Arveschoug and Alexandra Hamilton (Rostyn); son John Arveschoug, granddaughters Camie and Lacey; and, daughter Lani Williams (Charles) and granddaughter Jessica Reynolds (Stefan). A service with military honors will be held June 16, 11:15 AM, at Washington State Veterans Cemetery, Medical Lake, WA.

Mr. Neil was a blessing to everyone who knew him & I totally enjoyed talking with him and listening to his stories. He was a shining light on this earth & most definitely in heaven with our Lord & Savior. When he couldn't attend Starr Road Baptist Church any longer he was missed for his wit & kind heart and knowledge he had of the Bible. He was proud to be a Veteran & a member of Post 241. It was a pleasure knowing your Dad & Grandfather. Mr. Neil will see you again when we all get to heaven. Deepest Love from Sister in Christ - Diane Hamley, Starr Road Baptist Church
