My GodMom, Pam, was the best and took her role with me very seriously. I looked forward to our hours-long phone calls. I can hear her say right now "Hi, Honey!" She was so many good things, but my favorite was her unending sense of humor. Her laugh gave me joy. My husband, Jessie, and I spent countless evenings at dinners and playing Farkle with her and Dick. It was always a girls against the boys challenge and she and Dick would laugh and laugh for hours with us. When I went to work for her and Dick at the Spokane Board of Realtors, she was an incredible role model always coaching and mentoring me. She gave me so much of herself and her time. Once as she was talking with me in her office when I was about 13, she flicked her cigarette ash behind her into her garbage bin. A few seconds later, there were orange flames coming out of the bin. Without missing a beat, she just casually dumped her cup of coffee backwards into the bin behind her, extinguishing the flames non-chalantly and just kept on talking. It´s one of my favorite memories because it was so intensely funny and typical of her great demeanor. I know she is carrying on her duties up in Heaven and watching over all of us. I will always love her with all of my heart.

I did not know Pam, however in reading her obit the "serve" appeared many many times. A community citizen. Hold your torch high so others see your light and continue service to our community.
