Pamela FRANCIS Obituary
Pamela "Pam" Kay Huntington Kelly Francis, aged 79, passed away on September 28, 2024, in Spokane, WA. She was born October 12, 1944, in Walla Walla, WA. Pam dedicated her life to education, spirituality, and family.
Pam's career spanned over 40 years in education, significantly at Seth Woodard Elementary, where she served as a principal, shaping the minds and hearts of countless students and teachers with her wisdom and patience. She was also a cofounder and developer of the Whitworth Writing Rally, an initiative that encouraged and polished young writers' skills.
A graduate of ('62) Walla Walla H.S., Pam furthered her education at Central Washington University earning her Bachelor of Arts in Education ('66). A few years later she was able to achieve her master's degree from Gonzaga University. Equipped with the skills to make significant contributions to the field of education, she set out to do so. And did!
In her personal time, Pam pursued her passions for photography, traveling, learning, and living life to the fullest. These hobbies reflected her love for exploration and continuous growth.
One of Pam's greatest joys in life was her family. She married the love of her life, Leslie John Francis in 1983. Between them, they raised five children: Sean Kelly, Heather Kelly, John (Cheri) Francis, Greg (Lisa) Francis, Melissa (David) Shearer. Pam was also a very proud grandma to nine grandchildren as well as a loving aunt and great-auntie. Pamela was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 40 years, her furever friend Mac, her parents, and her brother and sister.
Pam's Celebration of Life will be 11 am, December 7th, 2024, at Seth Woodard Elementary School, 7401 E Mission, Spokane Valley, WA 99212. Everyone is asked to bring a favorite picture or memento that links your heart and mind to Pam. For those who would like to participate, this Celebration includes a grand session of Show N Tell! Pam expects sore tummies by the end so don't forget your funny-bone!
Pam's life was a testament to her strong, tough spirit and her unwavering dedication to nurturing both the minds and hearts of those around her. Her wisdom and kindness will be deeply missed. Yet, her spirit will live on in the hearts and laughter of all who were lucky enough to know her.
Rest in peace, dear Pamela. May your laughter echo through the halls of Heaven for eternity.
