Patrick CASEY Obituary

CASEY, Patrick Stuart (Age 82) Pat, who was fondly referred to as "Casey", passed away peacefully early Tuesday morning, December 31st. Casey was born at Sacred Heart Hospital on November 30, 1931. He attended St. Patrick's Catholic Grade School, Gonzaga Prep High School and worked for the Northern Pacific Railroad while attending college. He graduated from Gonzaga University in 1957. Casey started his 31 year sales career with Univar and was given early retirement in 1990. He also spent a few years traveling the Northwest with Columbia Lighting. Casey was a loving father and a lifelong friend to many. He is survived by his family, Shirley and their children; Ann, Kevin and Mike Casey. Pat is also survived by his sister, Judy (Gene) Ryle; his brother, Richard (Patricia); his cousin, Carol Bosch; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert E. Casey: grandmother, Eva Stewart Casey; brother, Robert Casey, Jr.; and his wife, Lonnie; and also by his sister, Joan Cook and her husband Paul. Casey volunteered at St. Pat's Grade school and coached basketball for eleven years. He was an avid sports fan and a Gonzaga booster club member. Casey was a season ticket holder and rarely missed a basketball game. He would travel long and far to watch the Zag's play. Casey loved to play tennis and belonged to the North Park Racquet Club. He also enjoyed golfing with his friends. The family would like to thank Dr. Leroy Byrd, Yvonne Van Gelder, Maureen and Art Schmidt, Dick and Patricia Casey; and the staff at Colonial Court for their care and support. Additionally, all the thoughts and prayers extended to the family during Casey's final days were greatly appreciated. In lieu of flowers and in memory of "Coach Casey", donations can be made to the St. Patrick's Church New Roof fund at any Inland Northwest Bank Branch location. A memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, January 11th at 11:00 am at St. Patrick's Catholic Parish, 5021 N. Nelson St. A celebration of Casey's life will follow in the reception hall.
