Robert BUNT Obituary

Robert Charles Bunt, age 71, passed on Oct. 7, 2021, in Spokane, Wash. This living legend was born to Anna and Raymond Charles Bunt in Bridgeport, Conn. He went through grammar, high school and some college in Los Altos, Calif.

In 1969, Bob joined the United States Navy and served until 1972 aboard the USS Albany CG-10 guided missile cruiser, stationed in the Mediterranean. He served as the captain's messenger, disc jockey on the ship's radio station, resident photographer, and as a sonar observation specialist. He was honorably discharged due to injuries sustained in a gun turret malfunction.

After his discharge, Bob worked as a mechanic, in construction, a cash register repair serviceman and various other jobs. In 1976 he moved to St. Maries, Idaho, where he built his own beautiful log home from scratch. Neighbors were so impressed that they contracted him to build homes for them. He did this while working for the city of St. Maries doing road maintenance and operating heavy and snow equipment. During this time, he met the love of his life, and the woman he lived to be with, Janine. Bob moved to Spokane in 1994 and they married Dec. 2, 2000.

Bob had a heart bigger than himself. He would give those he cared about the shirt off his back and the last dollar he had if they were in need, never expecting anything in return. Bob was a man of high principles and loyalty was paramount.

Bob lived to ride his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, with Janine firmly holding on. He was an active member of The Procrastinator MC. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, decorating for the holidays, going to live music shows with VIP access and artist hangs, flexing his green thumb, BBQing, and socializing with family and friends. He and Janine are the best of friends and time with them is a treasure.

Bob was proceeded in eternity by his parents, Raymond and Anna Bunt; his brother, Jim Bunt; and other family friends and relatives. He will be missed by his devoted wife, Janine Bunt; sister and brother in-law Ann and Michael Carter; brother Raymond Bunt; sister in-law Nancy (Jim) Bunt; along with eight nieces and nephews, nine great nieces and nephews, and many other family and friends.

Ride on, Brother Bob. We celebrate you.
