Robert HARDER Obituary

Robert "Bob" Harder died in Spokane, WA, on January 17, 2024, at the age of 89. Bob is survived by his wife, Josephine of Spokane; children, Carlee Harder-Brown (Rich) of Los Gatos, CA; Shanny Harder Ronald of Felton, CA; Mark Harder (Margaret) of Bothell, WA; Chris Harder (Kelly) of Huntington Beach, CA; Amy Blackburn of Tacoma, WA; Maggie Erickson of Tacoma, WA; and Kevin Harder of Spokane, WA.

Bob was a cattle rancher for 50 years in the Ritzville, WA, area. In his leisure time, Bob became a black belt in judo. This true passion defined Bob as he was a central figure in the judo community, known as Sensei Harder. Bob still was teaching judo months before his death. Judo took him around the world and into many experiences and life-long friendships.

Bob was an animal lover, having many dogs and horses throughout his life, including Cobalt, Fung, Big Daddy, and Peppy Right.

A memorial service will be held in Spokane, on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at 1:00, Pacific Dojo 2302 N. Waterworks St., Spokane, WA.

Bob was a good friend of my dad. I remember him as a very nice guy with a Great smile. I believe he was also a Pilot.

I remember staying with the Harder family on the ranch for a week in the summer once. They had a one-of-a-kind red jeep Bob made, and they called it "Cannardly," because it can `ardly make it up some of the hills. We enjoyed seeing their family come to Liberty Lake in the summer and play with us. Rest in peace, Bob.
