SHULKIN, Robert A.

June 22, 2017
Robert A. Shulkin, passed peacefully June 22, 2017 with his beloved wife Elizabeth at his side.
Born in Daily Township, Nebraska, Robert was called up from the National Guard and served his country WWII 1941-1947, training Army recruits in "dirty fighting" (hand to hand) eventually reaching the rank of Major.
Robert (Bob) spent time during his life in Kalispell MT, Fargo ND, San Francisco, CA and Spokane, WA. Eventually Post Falls then Liberty Lake would become his home with Elizabeth (Bette) and a growing family. It was Coeur d'Alene for retirement and Bob and Bette spent many of those winters in Tucson, AZ visiting grandchildren and family. Bob would serve 14 years as Caddie Master for the (Ping/Welch's) LPGA events in Tucson, as well as 10 years Caddie Master for the Tucson Open PGA events. In retirement Bob also became an avid Mariners fan.
Through his life Bob enjoyed painting and as an accomplished artist he enjoyed portraits and landscapes. Through his working years Bob also painted many of the gymnasium floors including center court art for schools in the northwest. Bob enjoyed family and friends, golf, fishing, ball room dancing, big band era music and had a full shop for woodworking.
Bob's greatest love was for Bette and he continued to take her dancing his entire life, even if it was at home.
Bob is survived by his loving wife Bette of 52 years, his son Michael and step-children, Richard (Martha), Robert and Susan (Mick), as well as 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Bob's life will take place
beginning at 2pm Saturday, July 1, 2017
at Liberty Lake Public Golf Course.
