SIMPSON, Robert G.

Robert George "Bob" Simpson, 61, of Omak, WA went home to be with His Savior on January 25, 2011 while in the company of his loving wife of 39 years. Bob was born May 19, 1949 to Robert Del and Viva (Barth) Simpson in Spokane, WA. He spent his childhood in Spokane and graduated from West Valley High School in 1967 where he enjoyed playing trombone in the band. He then attended Eastern Washington College studying geology and was the photographer for the school's newspaper. While in college, he put his faith and trust in Jesus Christ his Savior. During his time at Eastern, he fell in love with Kim Churchill, married in March of 1972 and moved to Omak, where they lived for 37 years, raising three children. During his time in Omak, he worked for Biles Coleman Lumber, Bramer Hardware, served as an Okanogan County Reserve Officer and was a member of the Sheriff's Posse. In 1984, Bob followed his passion for photography and opened Simpson Studio, where he became an award-winning photographer and was a member of the Professional Photographers of Washington. After 14 years, Bob closed the studio due to health reasons and started Simpson Water Gardens where he enjoyed caring for his Koi fish. Bob was a very friendly person, well known to many in town, and a faithful member of the Okanogan Gospel Hall for 35 years. He will be greatly missed.
Survivors include his loving wife Kimberly (Churchill) Simpson, of Omak, WA; his children Joel, Aaron and Leah; his father Robert Del Simpson of Spokane Valley, WA; his siblings Clinton of Eugene, OR and Becky of Tacoma, WA; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother Viva Simpson.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, February 6, 2011 at 1:00 PM at the Cornerstone Christian Fellowship in Omak, WA.
