Ruthann MEISNER Obituary

December 4, 1970 - May 4, 2025

Ruthann passed away at her home in Everett, Washington, in the company of her husband, Michael, and sons, Matthew and Marcus, from complications of a brain tumor diagnosed in 2006.

The daughter of Robert and Ruth Warner, she grew up in Spokane Valley, Washington, with her brother, sisters, and extended Mexican exchange family. She moved to Everett to work for many years as a Mukilteo School District Music teacher, where she met her husband while living in the same local condominium complex; they were married in February 2000.

Jamie graduated from Central Valley High School 1989, earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Idaho School of Music in 1994, and a master's degree in teaching from Whitworth University in 1995. She personally and professionally maintained a passion for music and enjoyed the arts throughout her life including performing at Carnegie Hall with the University of Idaho Vandaleers, with local choirs around Seattle, as well as traveling to China with a choir group and in her local church's Bell Choir.

She loved to adventure, travel, and meet new people. Her empathic heart longed to better the lives of those around her which included family, friends, and strangers.

She was a devoted self-declared chocoholic. Have a chocolate treat in her memory. Gifts may be made to First Descents in her name.

I am very sad to hear of Jaimie's passing and am sending condolences and hugs to her family whom she loved dearly. She was a joy for all of us at MSD and to teach music education with her was a highlight for me. She taught me more than she will ever know about singing with kiddos and when she came to my music class when I was sick, my students enjoyed her very much. I know she is singing with the angels now and will be missed.
