Sam ROGERS Obituary

October 23, 1965 - July 21, 2025

Spokane Valley - Sam Rogers, 59, passed away Monday, July 21, after a hard-fought battle with cancer.

Sam was born in Oklahoma City, OK, in October of 1965. He was raised in San Diego, and over the years consistently moved north to be close to family and friends and raise his family amongst them. Sam moved permanently to the Spokane Valley in July of 2011, but his heart was always in San Diego, a true sunshine and water lover to the end. Sam was a faithful Chargers and Padres fan, he loved to fish (ocean, lake or river!), golf, travel, cook and share a good meal. He appreciated his career as a teammate of the CVSD Facilities Team and was immensely proud of being a member of the Choctaw Nation. However, when asked what his greatest joy and accomplishment in life was, his answer was always "my daughter, Cheyanne."

Sam is survived by wife, Janny; daughter, Cheyanne; son-in-law/friend, Kyle; sister, Ann (Stoney); stepmom, Cynthia; nieces, Samantha, Katie, Megan and Evelynn; nephews, Benjamin, Sequoyah, Marshall, Chris, Rex, Noah and Joe; many additional close and extended family members; and countless friends. He was preceded in death by parents, Marshall and JoAnn; brothers, Gib and Adam; and brother-in-law, Mark.

Memorial Services will be held on Friday, August 1, 2025, at 3:00 p.m., at The Intersection Church (905 N. McDonald, Spokane Valley, WA) with a Celebration of Life gathering immediately following at the McGowan's home.

Sam loved quietly but lived loudly. He will be forever missed.
