Stephen BELL Obituary

Steve Bell passed away on August 2, 2024, at his family's home in San Jose, California. Steve lived life to the fullest. He was an explorer and a world traveler? he loved people. He was a kind and generous person who did so much for so many. The joy of being of service to his community inspired him to move to Spokane from San Jose, California, where he grew up. He was a man who deflected attention from himself, but he paid attention to the needs of others. He was at the ready to fix, repair, remodel, or create whatever his friends needed. He could build anything. His greatest gift was how he treated the people that crossed his path. Steve was committed to supporting many charities and he gave generously. Of particular interest was affordable housing (which he provided), land conservancy (he was an avid hiker and camper), and local agencies that fed, clothed, and housed those in need, as skilled as he was with construction, having owned a tile setting business before he retired, Steve worked for many people on many projects. He did not work for money. He was happy to do all that he could, for the sake of service. He was devoted to his wife, Brenda, who was the love of his life. He brought light, happiness, and joy to those around him. A remarkable, amazing man. The world is not the same without him. Steve is survived by his second mother, Mildred Bell; and by his three siblings, David (Susan) Bell, Martin Bell, and Sharon (Mike) Bell Myers; and by Steve's beloved nephews, Marcus and Kyle? also his wife, Brenda Yates Bell; and four children, Kaari Mitchell, Amanda Dahlstrom, Theresa Smith, and Claire Utley. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Inland Northwest Land Conservancy. At Steve's request, no service will be held.
