WITTAU, Steven R. Steven R. Wittau, 61, entered into rest on Friday, February 5, 2021 in Dallas TX after a long illness. He was born in Menominee MI on December 1, 1959 to Eugene and Rita Wittau, the 8th of 9 children. Steven grew up in Spokane WA; he graduated from Central Valley High School in 1977. He graduated from Gonzaga University in 1984 with a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering and was subsequently licensed as a Professional Engineer. Steven began his career in June 1985 at PACCAR Tech Center. In September 1993 he moved to Denton TX to work at Peterbilt Motors Company. At the time of his passing he was the Engineering Section Manager. Steven had a long and successful career as an engineer. He married Kenna Storie in 1998. They were blessed with their son, Tristan in 2002. They later divorced, but remained good friends and wonderful parents to Tristan. Steven enjoyed music, cars, skiing, golf, the Seahawks, the Zags, a cold beer and most especially watching Tristan play baseball. Tristan was the light of his life and Steven was extremely proud of his accomplishments, both on and off the baseball field. He is survived by his sisters, Eileen Everard, Rita Clark-Johnson (Tom Johnson), Kathy Wittau (Sean Harrigan), Julie Wittau (Mike Abinanti), Donna Navarre-Smith (Dan Smith) and his brothers, Gene Wittau (Karen), Thomas Wittau, and Neil Dylan (Kara) and numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. As one of the few PACCAR Sales North America "band of brothers", he and I often reminisced about our early career at PACCAR. Steve's wry sense of humor will be missed by all that knew him. My heart goes out to Kenna, Tristan and his other loved ones.

John and I were so sorry to hear this news. Steve was a friend and a big help to me when I moved to Denton. He had a wry sense of humor and was willing to help when my fence fell down or I needed a swing set put together (engineering skills). He was always a lot of fun. He will be missed by his family and friends. My sympathy to all who knew him.

I met Steve when he moved to Denton, Texas. He lived across the street from me. My mower had broken down and he walked across and offered to fix it. Little did I know that for the many years later he would be someone to call for professional advice when it came to anything related to maintenance issues of any kind. One thing we had in common was that he was one of nine children and I am one of twelve. We shared so many family memories. He loved his family so much. Tristan was the light of his life. I have missed him so much since his passing. May each day bring comfort to all of his family.

I met Steven in 1978; first person that made me feel welcome and safe in Spokane. I can truly say he was my best friend. We would go a year without seeing each other but when we did it was like no time had passed. We would meet the same time/same place on a yearly basis (try to at least) and catch up. He always talked about Tristan; he was so proud of him! My heart goes out to Tristan, Steven's sisters and brothers, and friends. Love you, Steven.
