Susan CURRAN Obituary

Susan was born December 26, 1954, to John and Annette (Heitstuman) Curran of Spokane, where she lived the rest of her life. She died in her sleep from complications of Multiple Sclerosis on September 19, 2024.

A 1973 graduate of Holy Names Academy, she worked much of her life at Spokane Appliance Repair (SPARCO). She enjoyed various crafts, decorating for holidays, especially Christmas, and sending handmade cards to family and friends. She was also a big Zag basketball fan, rarely missing a game. Susan was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in her mid-thirties and faced the increasing symptoms of and damage from the disease with stoicism; determined to live in her own home and remain independent as long as possible. She was able to do so until the past year, when she moved to assisted living.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and is survived by her sisters, Julie Curran and Sharon (Curran) Forsyth, brother-in-law, Grant Forsyth; and too many Curran and Heitstuman cousins to count.

Her family extends their gratitude to Susan's caregivers at Jomani Adult Family Home for their kindness, compassion and care for Susan.

A small graveside service for immediate family will be held this month; a celebration of life memorial for extended family will be held at a later date. Arrangements are being made by Holy Cross Funeral Home and Cemetery, where Susan's remains will be placed with her parents. Her online memorial page can be found at www.holycrossofspokane.org.
