Sylvia
Sylvia E. Gossett of Harring- ton, WA was born Septem- ber 25, 1934 in Springhill, Louisiana. Sylvia, with her family by her side, lost her battle with cancer on Mon-day, December 13, 2010. She is now re-united with her beloved husband of 51 years, J.L. Gossett who passed away February 4, 2008 after also losing his battle with cancer. Sylvia leaves behind four sons, Jay (Kari) of Gig Harbor, WA, Buck (JoAnn) of Mohler, WA, Mike (Kelly) of Wilbur, WA and Mark of Harrington, WA. Also her sister Irene (Richard) Voetburg of Harrington and brother Donald (Doris) Umphries of New Iberia, LA. Her parents William and Emma, sister Jean and brothers Vernon, Johnny and Rocky who all passed before her will all be waiting to rejoice in her homecoming. Sylvia enjoyed being close to her family especially during the holidays. She also enjoyed fishing, cooking great southern meals and, of course, her penny slot machines. A celebration of Sylvia's life, with friends and family will be held in the spring. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Harrington Fire Dept/EMT's, Lincoln Hospital Foundation or the American Cancer Society.

My condolensces to the Gossett brothers and families during your time of loss. Sylvia was a great woman to anyone who knew her and stepped within their home. It was tough raising those 4 boys, but she always had time to take in another, even if it was just for an afternoon visit. Thanks for the memories Sylvia! Conrad Harder

Sooooo many good memories, when we were soo young and innocent. i always remember those days of growing up with the gossetts down on bemis street, spokane. times i will always cherish. god bless Sylvia and JL.
