Timothy RAHMAN Obituary

Timothy John Rahman (81), beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away on September 28th, 2024. He was born November 4th, 1942, to Robert and Violet Rahman of Bremerton, WA, the first of three boys. He graduated from East Bremerton High School and after receiving the Bausch and Lomb medal and scholarship in 1965, attended the University of Rochester in New York, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.

He settled in Spokane, WA, in 1970, where he had a long and successful career as an electrical engineer with Washington Water Power until his retirement in 1999. Tim was married to his great love, Ajia (Jekabsons) for 45 wonderful years and together they built a home and life, raising four children with an abundance of love, patience and humor.

Tim was active in a variety of councils and clubs, including the Spokane Engineering Forum and the Spokane Carvers Association. He was an award-winning wood sculptor for 30 years, well-known for his artistic creativity, and held the title of Master Carver.

Tim was deeply loved and admired by all those who knew him and will be profoundly missed.

Tim is survived by his wife, Aija; their children, Jeff (Shari) Rahman, Beth Rahman, Melissa (Bryce) Hein, and Rebecca Barneson; and grandchildren, Kira, Skyler, Garett, Jack, Joey, Faith, Claire, Lily and Henry. Tim is also survived by his brothers, Greg (Linda) Rahman and Rick (Denise) Rahman, and their children.

Tim was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Violet Rahman, and grandson, Quinn Amber.

The family will hold a private memorial.
