Tyler BERENS Obituary

BERENS, Tyler Christian
(Age 25)

Of Spokane, WA went to the loving arms of our Lord on Saturday, September 23rd, 2017. He died suddenly and peacefully in the early morning hours. Tyler was born on December 20th, 1991 to Shawna Berens. When he was young he loved to fish and hunt with his grandpa Butch. His best memories where flying to Alaska to fish and spending weekends at Priest Lake. Snowboarding was his passion and he couldn't wait until the snow flew. He enjoyed baseball, basketball, and playing in Hoopfest. When he was seven years old, his mom married Monte Burnett and Tyler got to be a big brother to Kyle. They were nine years apart but still had a strong bond. Tyler's world turned bumpy in High School and he had many struggles. His biggest hurt in life was his biological father Ryan Wade Schaefer who chose not to be a part of his life from the day he was born. No matter how much we loved him, that left a large void in his heart. Tyler had a big heart and brought lots of laughter and joy to people who loved him. He also struggled with depression and demons none of us could fix. His family fought for him for 10 years but he finally succumbed to his disease that he desperately wanted free of. Tyler was going to school to become a chemical dependency counselor. Tyler is survived by his son Kyson, parents Monte and Shawna Burnett, brother Kyle Burnett, and grandparents Dwane and Darlene Berens, many aunts, uncles, and cousins in Minnesota. He is living peacefully in Heaven with his dog Molly, and great-grand- parents. Until I see you again my beautiful boy. Love Mom. There will be a private service held Saturday, September 30th with immediate family and close friends. To leave a note for the family please visit hennesseyfuneralhomes.com

That picture is perfect. Tyler smiling. I think that is what I will remember about him the most. I only met him a couple of times, but both times he was doing exactly that "smiling". They say "love is all you need", in Tyler's case, this just simply was not the case. Love to the entire family.
