A celebration of Val's life will be held on August 30, 2025 at 10:30 at Chewelah Memorial Park and 12:00 at Chewelah's American Legion Post 54, this will be followed by a catered luncheon. Friends and family are welcome to join in this memorial. nephews, cousins, and extended family throughout Stevens County.

I met Mr Hixson at the Fairchild BX .. Loved this man as we would share stories of our relatives that homesteaded in that area. RIP kind Sir , I will miss hearing your stories.
