Virginia Mraz Dahmen (age 97) passed away October 5, 2018 at Advanced Health Care Center in Lewiston, ID. Virginia was born August 30, 1921, in Pullman, WA, to parents Frank and Doris (Semler) Becker. She was raised in the Bald Butte area, north of Colton, WA. Virginia received her early education (riding to school on mules with her sisters) in a one-room school house known as the Bald Butte School. In 1939 she graduated from Colton High School - the first class to graduate from the present school building. She married her high school sweetheart Norman Mraz in 1943. They lived and farmed for 40+ years on land that was home- steaded by his grandfather in 1877, until Norman's passing in 1984. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, sewing and quilting, reading and crafts. Virginia married Claude Dahmen in 1987. They enjoyed traveling, visiting many places in the USA and many countries. She is survived by sons: John (Marilyn) Mraz - Spokane, WA, Tim (Corki) Mraz - Richland, WA, and Jerry Mraz and James Mraz - Colton, WA., along with five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her extended family - Corey (Joy) Dahmen - Lewiston, Id., Bob (Leslie) Dahmen - Coeur d'Alene, Id., Don (Connie) Dahmen - Kirkland, WA., and their families, sister Lola Little McCubbin and brother Ed Becker, both of Port Angeles, WA. She was preceded in death by parents Frank and Doris Becker, husbands Norman Mraz and Claude Dahmen, daughter Bobbie Jo Mraz Gyllstrom and son-in-law John Gyllstrom, sisters Mary Louise Juzeler, Margaret Patricia Busch, Delores Ann Bryant, and brother Frank Becker Jr.
A rosary service will be held Thursday, October 11, 2018 at 6:00 pm at St. Gall's Catholic Church, Colton, WA. The Funeral Mass will be held Friday, October 12, 2018 at 11:00 am at Saint Gall's Catholic Church, Colton, WA. Burial will follow at the St. Gall Catholic Cemetery in Colton, WA.
