HARRIS, Vivian L.

Vivian L. Harris (Vi), 83, of Spokane, Washington passed away on Sunday, June 10, 2018 in Spokane, Washington.
Vi was born in Houston, Texas on October 25, 1934 to Henry and Donna Lee Doty. Vi moved to Seattle with her family as a young girl. She married Donald "Jack" Williams, and in 1958 they welcomed a daughter, Lori. In 1967, she met Lawrence "Larry" Harris, the love of her life, and they were married on December 23, 1967. They were married for 50 years. Vi and Larry moved to Spokane in 1968, and eventually settled in Clayton in 1970.
Vi and Larry were proud members of the WSU Cougar Club, attending every home game for 45 years. They also traveled to many games in Hawaii, California, and Arizona over the years.
Vi was a member of many clubs and organizations such as the Deer Park Fraternal Order of Eagles, bowling leagues, and the Deer Park TOPS Club. Vi was a member and President of the Deer Park Band Boosters during Lori's high school years, helping to organize and chaperone many band and drill team trips, including the 1976 Bicentennial Parade trip to Philadelphia. After being diagnosed with cancer in 1985, she spent many years volunteering for the American Cancer Society. Vi was also a dedicated volunteer at school for her daughter and later her grandchildren. She also participated in many Bloomsday runs.
Vi's greatest joys in life were her husband, daughter, grandchildren, and great-grandson.
Vi is survived by her daughter, Lori Hughett, two grandchildren, Stephani Keetch (Matthew) and Erik Hughett, great-grandson, Greysen Keetch, and sister, Dona Crow, as well as brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Vi is preceded in death by her husband, Larry Harris, parents, Henry and Donna Lee Doty, and brothers, Hank, Bill and Donald Doty.
A private graveside burial will be held on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at 12:00pm at the Zion Cemetery in Clayton, Washington. A celebration of life will follow at the Deer Park Eagles from 2:00pm to 4:00pm. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Lauer Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that all donations be made to The American Cancer Society.
