William HINCHLIFF Obituary

William Thomas Hinchliff or Bill, as he liked to be called, of Spokane, WA, passed away on January 27, 2022, in Boise, ID at the age of 74. Bill was born in Coeur d' Alene, ID to Wendell and Mary Hinchliff on March 14, 1947. He was the second of six children. After the family moved to Valley, WA, he attended Mary Walker High School and graduated in 1965. He went on to college at Washington State University but later voluntarily joined the Army to help the war effort in Vietnam. Bill married Sheryl Marie Bedford in 1969. They had one child, Michele Lynn. Michele married John Rice and they provided Bill and Sheryl with two granddaughters, Hailey and Sarah, with whom they were very smitten. Bill was a part of the Air National Guard, giving 34 years of loyal service. He retired in 2002 to spend more time on his passion, working on and collecting vintage cars. He also enjoyed fishing with buddies, telling stories and jokes, reading books, and watching sports, especially NASCAR.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents Wendell and Mary Hinchliff; his wife Sheryl Hinchliff; and his siblings Jim and Barbara Hinchliff. Bill is survived by his sisters: Marie Schneider, Lora Biondi, and Joan Dudney; his brother-in-law Don Dudney; his daughter and son-in-law Michele and John Rice; and his two granddaughters Hailey and Sarah Rice, along with many wonderful nieces and nephews. Bill is remembered as a supportive son and brother, a caring husband, a loving father and grandfather, and a loyal friend.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 pm Saturday, February 5, 2022, at Fairmount Memorial Park, Sunset Chapel, 5200 W. Wellesley Ave., Spokane, WA 99205.
