William REDFIELD Obituary

(1936 – 2024)

William J. Redfield, MD (retired) went to be with the Lord in June 2024. Dr. Redfield was born in Spokane, Washington, and moved to Tacoma as an infant. He graduated from Stadium High School, where he was the senior class President and loved playing football. After high school, he attended Stanford University and the University of Washington. He graduated with honors from both schools. He interned at San Diego Naval Hospital and graduated sixth in his class from Navy Flight Surgeon School in Pensacola, Florida. He served as a flight surgeon in the US Navy and completed a three-year residency in dermatology at the University of Oregon Medical School - Portland. Dr. Redfield ran a prominent dermatology clinic in Spokane providing excellent care to his patients for 22 years.

Dr. Redfield was a very accomplished handball champion; he strived for and achieved a beautiful golf game; and he loved to read – especially Shakespeare, which he studied and for which he developed a lifetime of passion and learning. He became, in his own words, "totally engrossed in the beauty of" the work.

Dr. Redfield was a man of strong faith who wanted to share that faith with others. He believed everything that happened in his life was because of his faith in Christ. He was a gracious gentleman; an intelligent conversationalist; a kind dog-lover; and an inspiration to others.

Dr. Redfield is survived by his wife, Sharon; four adult children: Kirstin, Kerri, Bill, and Sherri; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and extended family.

Words cannot describe how devastated our lives will be without you. We love you; we will miss you; and in the words of Shakespeare: "Goodnight, sweet prince, and flights of angels sing thee to they rest." To leave condolences for the family, visit www.hennesseyvalley.com.

He hired me at seventeen and employed me for nearly two decades. He was the dad I never had. As a mentor he taught me work ethic, efficiency, accountability, and seemed to enjoy teaching me everything he knew about diagnosing, treatment n´ pharmaceuticals. I´m blessed beyond measure to have had the opportunity to be trained and mentored by the best of the best. Kiki - Kerri ... offering deepest condolences. If you wish to reach out I´d love to hear from you both! Dr Herdener knows how to get ahold of me.

Dr. Redfield was my dermatologist, until his retirement, and was a very good and decent man. For me, he was ALWAYS listened to me and respected my feelings. He was everything a doctor should be.
