John Walker Obituary
In Loving Memory of John C Walker.
With deep sadness and faith in the promises of eternal life, we announce the passing of John Walker, who was called home to the Lord on November 5th, 2025, at the age of 87. John was a devoted husband, father (4 children: Lisa, Jeff, Terrie, & Jennifer), grandfather (9 children) and a cherished member of his community. His life was defined by love, faith, and a commitment to family, and he will be deeply missed.
John was born on August 7, 1938, in Waterloo, IA, but grew up mainly in White Bear Lake MN. He graduated from White Bear Lake High School, then served in the Navy for four years, and later attended college at St. Cloud State where he met the love of his life, Elaine. They were married for 63 wonderful years, sharing a life full of love, laughter, and cherished memories.
John had a successful career at Spooner High School, where he taught Industrial Arts & Construction, Metal works and Photography. His work ethic, integrity, & craftsmanship were evident in everything he did, and he was highly respected by the community for his active involvement in the Lions Club and St. Francis De Sales church.
John was an active traveler, spending weekends all summer long camping with his family, and winters snowmobiling and cross-country skiing. In retirement, John & Elaine loved to travel to Europe, Australia, Panama and everywhere in between. They met many life-long friends on their travels.
A Funeral Mass to celebrate John's life will be held at St. Francis De Sales Church on December 12th 2025, at 11 a.m. A visitation will be held prior to the mass at 10 a.m. at the back of the church. Burial will be held at the Spooner Veterans Memorial Cemetery at 1 p.m., followed by a luncheon at the church. We invite all who knew John to join us in honoring his memory.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, that any donations be made to Saint Francis De Sales in honor of John, who loved that church with all his heart, and sent all his children to their school.
May John rest in the loving arms of our Lord, and may his soul rest in eternal peace.
