Jacob, we were neighbors with your father for a good few years and though he was traveling most of the time, we did get to talk with him occasionally and had become friends. May he rest in peace and comfort and live on in your hearts. He thought greatly for the future of his country, and I know he comes from the root of good and hard work. Rest in peace , Dave Totten. Dear Amanda and Jake. I became friends with your father before we started school together at Plattsburg in 1955. We lived in a small village so if there was a game to be played we were in it together. We worked on the farm together bailing hay during the summers and had a great time inspite of the dust and heat. We even managed to total Alices Buick Wildcat before our Senior year and managed to walk away from it just slightly battered. I was so looking forward to getting together with your dad this next summer as we had been talking on the phone about doing for the past year or so. I don't know how many hours we talked on the phoneas he was driving the rig from one end of the country to the other. He was always looking forwardto getting back to seeing his kids. I sure do miss calling him as we used to talk on the phone at least once a week. Your father is truly missed. From an old friend, Dave Gray, Springfield, O.

Amanda and Jacob-your dad was a great
friend of mine. We went to high school together and played in the band as well as. We held a lot of "private reunions" with our close classmates after we graduated from high school at the farm in Brighton Ohio because we didn't want to wait 10 years until the 1st class reunion. I met you and Jacob when you were very small at the farmhouse in Brighton. I'm sure sorry to hear of his passing. We got together on Thanksgiving 2013 at my house here in Hilliard Ohio and had a wonderful visit. I had not seen your father in 40 years and often wondered how and where he was. I'm so thankful for the time that we had. We kept in touch by cell phone either he would be driving or I would be driving and we had great conversations and had hoped to get together on another occasion. Our prayers are with you both. Janice is also a friend of mine and that's how I found out how to contact you. I would certainly not want to miss the memorial service for your father. My name is Craig Miller and you can reach me at 614-738-4970 or my email address is [email protected]

Dear Amanda and Jacob, I did not know you but I went to high school with your Dad. He was one of the "cool crowd" although he didn't think so. I reconnected with him while he was driving truck and we actually managed to visit with each other about three years ago. I just want you to know how saddened I am to hear of his passing as I shall miss him and our chats. He was very proud of both of you and spoke of you often. He especially enjoyed his time spent with you Amanda in Pennsylvania as he would call and tell me all about his visits. I live in Dayton and would like to attend his memorial service. I ask that you E-mail me when that will happen as I live in Dayton and I do not get the Springfield paper. I am also trying to get in touch with our other friend Craig Miller who lives in Columbus,Oh. My E-mail is [email protected]. My name is Janis. Again my condolences.
