Family-Placed Obituary


LINSON, Jr., Edward T. Edward T. Linson, Jr. 87, of Springfield died Sunday, May 27, 2007 in his home following several years of declining health. He was born January 25, 1920 in Greene County, Ohio the son of Edward T. and Esther (Martin) Linson, Sr. Mr. Linson served in the United States Army in the Pacific Theater during WWII and participated in the campaigns on Guadalcanal and the Solomon Islands. He retired from Wright-Patterson Air Force Base as an Aircraft Mechanic in 1962. Mr. Linson was a Life Member of Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 13 and enjoyed squirrel hunting and spending summers walleye fishing at Lake Erie. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Esther and James Doughman of Springfield; a sister Gwendolyn DeKoning of Morehead City, North Carolina; a daughter-in-law Betty Linson Starkey of Chillicothe; five grandchildren Jimmy (Michele) Doughman, Kelly (Amy) Doughman, Della Mae (Hagar) Certain, Ed Linson and Rose Linson; seventeen great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death in 1998 by his wife Della (Sowers) Linson, to whom he was married May 15, 1947; his son Bruce Linson and sister Patricia Brown. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:30 PM. in the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIL HOME with Pastor Ralph Helm officiating. The family will receive visitors Wednesday from 1-2:30 PM.
