News Death Notice
HAMM, Ellen Margaret Born 12-22-1957 Went to be with our Lord on 08/20/2013 Ellen followed her mother Marie Ellen Snyder (Frantz), and her father Donald Freeman Snyder. Ellen graduated from Clark State School of Nursing, and followed with her bachelors in nursing from Wright State University. Ellen had her CCRN, and had been a nurse for 32 years. Ellen, was a role model, mentor, and friend to countless Doctors, Nurses, and Patients. She was altruistic in the delivery of her Job, and was loved for such. Ellen Leaves behind her husband Jeff, Sister Rebecca Novack (Snyder), brother in law Jerry Novack, nephew Tyler Novack, Two special friends that were as sisters Geri Sherick, and Diane Wagner, two stepsons, Jacob Hamm, and Joseph Hamm. Ellen was a 4-H advisor for 14 years, and played in the Northeastern band growing up. Ellen was active with taking cruises to many destinations over the years, and will be remembered for countless happy memories. Ellen showed horses in 4-H, and was involved in showing dogs for years. Ellen was attached to her pet cats, and dogs that brought joy to her life. We will be celebrating Ellen's life on August 24, 2013, with a receiving line at 10 A.M., Memorial Service at 11 A.M., Crossroads Baptist Church, 9903 West National Road New Carlisle 45344. Ellen was a wonderful boss, patient mentor, and a rare friend. The nurse I am today is because of Ellen and the Mercy ICU team. I am forever grateful for her influence. My sympathies to her family.

Only good memories come to mind when I think of Ellen...in fact only good memories come to mind from Mercy ICU and it's entirety.....the laughs, the caring, the sincere thoughtfulness of all nurses and staff. I can still hear Ellen's laugh...and feel truly blessed for her presence in my life. I hope peace finds its way into all those broken hearts. ...

The heavens have opened to receive someone very special, albeit unbelievably too soon. I am so sorry to hear about Ellens passing. She and I were hospital directors together after the merger of Mercy & Community. Great times! She loved to bake and did a great job. I remember her as being She upbeat, positive, and loved by her staff. She will be missed, but remembered!

Ellen was an amazing person. I have always admired her, and she has had a large impact on my career as a nurse. She was my nurse manager several years ago, and I have not worked for a boss since that compares to Ellen. She was always to encouraging, giving, and helpful. I am praying for her entire family.
