Gregory ROSSER Obituary
News Death Notice
ROSSER, Gregory A. formerly of Springfield, Ohio passed away at the Dayton VA Hospital on Monday, October 8th. He was the youngest of 10 children born to the late James and Viola Newsome Rosser in Logan, West Virginia on September 23, 1955. He moved with his family to Springfield at a very early age where he attended elementary, junior high, and high school. Gregory served in the United States Army for three years, and was currently serving as a faithful Deacon at the Greater Praise Temple Missionary Baptist Church in Columbus, OH. Greg was preceded in death by his parents, Viola and James Rosser, one sister, Jeanette Rosser and two brothers, Robert Rosser and James Rosser, Jr. He is survived by a daughter Tyrissa Ervin of Hilliard, Ohio and a son, Tionne Ervin of Springfield, Ohio. He is also survived by 2 sisters and 4 brothers, Annette Holiday of Chattanooga, TN, Shirley Arnold of Kansas City, MO, Nathaniel Rosser (Barbara), Dayton, OH; Ernest Rosser (Sherry), Springfield, OH; Marvin Rosser (Vicky), Springfield, OH; Willie Rosser, Hampton, VA; special friend Gloria Z. Byers of Reynoldsburg, OH and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, October 15th at Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church, 5565 West Third Street, Dayton, Ohio, Rev. Herman E. Branham, officiating. Interment will follow at the Dayton VA Cemetery.

To the Rosser Family, I am sorry to hear the loss of Greg, My prayers are with you. I went to high school with Greg. He was such a fun person to be around. About three years ago I had the pleasure of talking to Greg again after so many years. He will be missed.

Greg, my main man, we went all through school together (best friends) most of the time. We reconnected in the recent years in Columbus and reminisced about old times. We reminisced about growing up in Springfield, always singing together, laughing, and just enjoying life as children who grew into men. This is just another chapter in life, something that is in the Master Plan where we have no control. Greg I will miss you, my friend. To the family there are times when words seem so inadequate to express what is in our hearts: this is one of them. We have fond memories of Greg and we weep with you. We pray that our Lord, Who is well acquainted with grief, will hold you close and that His great love and promises will comfort you.
