John SEITER Obituary
News Death Notice
SEITER, John F. 84, of Springfield died at 10:33 p.m. Saturday, March 8, 2014 in Springfield Regional Medical Center. He was born June 21, 1929 in Cincinnati to John and Mary (Malone) Seiter. He was a member of St. Raphael Catholic Church and a U.S. Army veteran having served in the Korean War. John retired as a firefighter from the Springfield Fire Division after 26 years of service and was presented the Local 333 Retired Firefighter of the Year Award in 2000. Survivors include his daughter, Karen Taynor of Springfield; son, Brian K. (Kim) Seiter of South Charleston; four grandchildren, Steven, Michael and Lisa Seiter and Amy Guerrero and great granddaughter, Ava. He was preceded in death by his wife Marlene on February 5, 2014 and a son, J. Kevin Seiter in 2008. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME with a Fireman's Service at 6:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday in St. Raphael Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Growing up I remember hearing the names of and being introduced to the many firefighters that my Dad (Art Marsh) knew and worked with in Springfield. Mr. Seiter was one of those gentleman. Please accept my sincere sympathy.
