Keith MITCHELL Obituary
News Death Notice
MITCHELL, Keith D. 56, of Springfield, died unexpectedly in his home Sunday morning, July 22, 2012. He was born in Springfield on December 25, 1955, the son of the late Jack D. and Mary L. (Errett) Mitchell. Keith was a 1974 graduate of Northwestern High School and a graduate of ITT Technical Institute. He worked as an applications engineer for Seepex and previously worked at the Elliott Company. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and walking with his four-legged companion, Trixie. Keith was very family oriented and was his children's number one fan. He is survived by his wife, Lizabeth "Liz" (Turnbull) Mitchell; number one daughter, Katie; number one son, Jacob; and sister and brother-in-law, Karen and Arthur Wooten of Springfield. Also surviving is a special uncle, Ralph Mitchell, special cousin, Steve Rust; mother-in-law, Sophie Turnbull; brothers-in-law, Michael (Cheryl) Turnbull, Doug Turnbull and Dan (Sharon) Turnbull; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins; and numerous close friends. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME. Keith's funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday in St. Raphael Church with Deacon Norm Horstman officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Catholic Central Capital Campaign, 1200 E. High St., Springfield, OH 45505. You may express condolences to the family at www.littletonandrue.com

There are no words to express our sorrow to you Liz, Katie and Jacob. Keith was a remarkable family man. Whether he was working the gates at Central football games or in the stands cheering on Katie and Jacob, Keith's presence at school functions was evident. To you Katie, may you enjoy success as you enter the next chapter of your life, college, a challenging yet exciting time, good luck. To you Jacob, your senior year, may it be full of many happy memories as you get ready to close one chapter of your life. Your Dad's presence will be felt at your games. To Liz, you and Keith have 2 beautiful children who have had to endure such pain and sorrow over the past week. May you find comfort with each other and your family and friends who care so deeply and love you so much. You will get through this, it will get easier, the tears will once again turn to laughter and one day your family will be together again. Continued prayers for all of you each and every day. I am saddened by the passing of Keith. I worked with him at Carrier and then at Elliott when the company moved to Dayton. We carpooled for about a year. He was truly one of the good guys. My condolences and prayers to his family.

Liz, Katie and Jacob I am so deeply sorry for your loss. Keith was such a wonderful and giving person. I enjoyed the years I worked with him and the years after seeing him at sporting events, or a simple wave if I seen him driving out by our house in South Vienna. He was a man that fought for what he believed in and I loved that about him. You were all his pride and joy and I always loved to hear his family stories. You could just see the love in his eyes when was talking about you guys. Words can't say how I felt when I got the news, but I will keep your family in my thoughts and prayers.

Everyone at seepex is devastated by this news. Monday was a sad and solemn day for all of us. I received call from several of our distributors and notes from remote sales offices giving testament to Keith as a person, a family man, a source of inspiration and competence. We were together in a departmental meeting until 4 pm on Friday. The loss of his good humor and consistent contribution leaves us all at seepex with a void in our soul.
